Benson First Fridays
First Fridays in the Benson Creative District have been a neighborhood tradition for over a decade, offering a consistent, year-round platform for artists, musicians, and creative businesses to share their work. What started as a monthly art walk has grown into a district-wide collaboration, with galleries, storefronts, bars, and community spaces hosting their own creative programming every month.
Creative
Placemaking & Neighborhood Infrastructure
BFF Omaha leads creative placemaking and neighborhood infrastructure work that supports the BCD as a clean, welcoming, and artist-driven neighborhood. Through the BFF Green Team, this work turns district goals into visible, community-driven action, including cleanups, public art, beautification projects, and small-scale infrastructure improvements.
Education & Youth Development
BFF Omaha offers artist-led classes and workshops year-round for youth, adults, and older adults. Programs emphasize hands-on learning, creative exploration, and community connection, with opportunities designed to meet people at different stages of life. All classes are free or pay-what-you-can, ensuring access regardless of experience level or financial situation.
Artist Support & Economic Opportunity
BFF Omaha supports artists through paid opportunities, accessible space, and real pathways to sell, show, and perform. This work focuses on reducing barriers, compensating artists for their labor, and creating multiple on-ramps for artists at different stages of their careers to engage with the Benson Creative District.
