MaMO Gallery Exhibitions Nominated for the 19th Annual Omaha Entertainment & Arts Awards!
We are thrilled to share that two of MaMO Gallery’s groundbreaking exhibitions, “Collective Departures” by Nolan Tredway and “Things I Tell You: The Understory” from Soundspark, have been nominated for the 19th Annual Omaha Entertainment & Arts Awards (OEAA)! These nominations highlight the creative brilliance of the artists and celebrate MaMO Gallery’s role as a hub for innovative and immersive art experiences.
About the Nominated Exhibitions
Collective Departures by Nolan Tredway
Premiering on September 1st, 2023, during First Friday, “Collective Departures” transformed MaMO Gallery into an interdimensional research vessel. This living, interactive ecosystem invited visitors to collectively shape immersive universes. With each change in the environment, participants witnessed the ripple effect of their actions, reminding us all of our interconnectedness with the world around us.
Nolan Tredway, whose work has been featured nationally and locally at spaces like Meow Wolf Denver and the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, brought his signature mix of imagination and interactivity to this unforgettable experience.
The Understory by Things I Tell You (Soundspark)
During Soundspark, part of May First Friday, The Understory turned MaMO Gallery into an immersive natural soundscape. This collaboration between Becki Murabito and Tres Johnson, known as Things I Tell You, combined ambient music created from plant energy with stunning lighting and visuals by David Carney.
Visitors were invited to reflect and reconnect with nature as modern technology met organic rhythms, creating an otherworldly, tranquil experience. The Understory was a testament to the power of art to unite the digital and the natural worlds in harmony.
