About the Project:
The Queer History of Omaha Mapping Project began in June 2024 with a $10,000 grant from the Omaha Community Foundation's Equality Fund. This project aims to uncover and document Omaha’s hidden queer histories, encouraging meaningful connections through shared stories. The interactive map highlights LGBTQIA2S+ historical sites dating back to the 1950s, with digital resources from UNO's Queer Omaha Archives.
